Questions
Clear answers for important decisions.
Families often need to understand both what home care can do and where its limits are. Here are answers to the questions we hear most often.
Understanding care
What is non-medical home care?
It is practical support in a person’s home to help with daily routines and independent living. It can include personal care, homemaker tasks, companionship, transportation, and respite support. It does not replace skilled medical care.
What do ADLs and IADLs mean?
Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) are personal self-care tasks such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, mobility, and eating. Instrumental Activities of Daily Living (IADLs) are tasks such as preparing meals, housekeeping, laundry, shopping, transportation, and errands.
Can you provide nursing or administer medication?
No. Lifeline Companions provides non-medical home care. We do not provide skilled nursing, therapy, medication administration, or services that require a medical license.
Do you offer companionship or respite care?
Yes. Companionship and respite support are part of our non-medical service scope. Call to discuss the type of support and timing you are looking for.
Planning support
Where do you serve?
We serve clients in Snohomish County and King County, Washington. Lifeline Companions is based in Marysville. Call to discuss your specific location.
Is care based on a standard package?
We begin by learning about a client’s routines, preferences, values, goals, and practical needs. The support discussed is centered on that person rather than a one-size-fits-all checklist.
How soon can care begin?
Timing depends on the location, type of help needed, and current availability. Please call us to discuss your situation and next steps.
What does care cost?
Rates depend on the support being discussed. We have not posted a standard price list; call us for current details before making a decision.
What if needs change later?
Let us know what has changed. We can revisit the support being provided and discuss what is possible within our non-medical scope.
